Technical Services Manager

Location: Framlingham, MA

We require a Technical Services Manager to be based at our US office in Framlingham, MA, to manage all technical aspects of our business application software across our US customer sites.  Reporting jointly to the SVP North America and the Professional Services Manager in the UK, this role involves working closely with customers to define and agree functional specifications, manage systems configuration and installation and undertake technical training and project closure.  As a senior member of the small team based at Framlingham, you will also have responsibility for the smooth running of a number of support functions, particularly technical support, testing and some pre-sales activities.

Applicants must have a strong technical background, ideally gained in a similar business environment.  A good understanding of the software development lifecycle, and experience of planning and delivering small to medium systems installations is o essential. Experience of COLD, Image or Document Management systems would be an advantage.

Ideally candidates will be graduates or similar from an IT, technical or business discipline. You will have substantial experience in a similar role, managing technology projects through the full project lifecycle, including management of consultants & engineers. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, as is experience of the following: Windows 2003 & 2008 Server, XP & Windows 7 and MS Office applications; SQL 2005 & 2008 installation & support; Microsoft IIS including Intranet and Internet set-up & configuration; WCF; Windows 2003/2008 security , policies & Active Directory; VMWare; script and command batch writing.

In order to meet the requirements of this role, applicants must be willing and able to travel worldwide, including visits to the UK for training and business process updates. It is also a requirement that the postholder takes part in a rotation for evening and weekend support.
